Located at 1600 ft above sea level, this thriving gardens is set on a gentle hill with views out over the Manawatu and ruahine Ranges. Home to more than 2000 rhododendrons, trees and shrubs,many of the species are bred right here at the park. The peak season for flowering is from late September through to mid December, however the garden is open to visit every day of the year.

In spring, all the bulbs are in bloom giving a wonderland of colour, and in autumn the deciduous trees colour the slopes and dot the ground in gold, red and orange leaves.
